Amid rampant speculation as to what will become of the latest retail space below the recently erected Inman Quarter condominiums on Elizabeth Avenue—along with growing grumblings that the area is quickly morphing into “Buckhead South”—Inman Park residents are currently up in arms regarding rumors that a Tilted Kilt is now slated to be among the additions to the former home of Dad’s Garage and Victory Sandwich Bar.

Established in 1889, Inman Park is Atlanta’s first official suburb, making its residents’ resentment of its new suburban interlopers arguably all the more ironic. This would mark the eighth Georgia location for the Celtic-themed, Hooters-style “breastaurant” chain, although only its second inside the perimeter.

We’re all for the revitalization of Intown Atlanta, but we have to ask: is this a bridge too far?
